Scrumptious Sweet Potato Crescent Rolls! 🍠🥐

Here's a delicious recipe that's both yummy and a great way to sneak in some veggies.

Your kiddos will be asking for seconds and thirds of these Sweet Potato Crescent Rolls!

📝 Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cup whole wheat flour

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice

  • 1 cup mashed sweet potato (cooked)

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter

  • 1 large egg

  • 2 tablespoon salted butter

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. In a mixer, combine 1 1/2 cups flour, sugar, yeast, salt, and spices.

  2. Warm up mashed sweet potatoes, milk, and butter. Ensure it's warm, not hot.

  3. Mix sweet potato mixture into the flour blend.

  4. Add beaten egg to dough and mix for 3 minutes.

  5. Add the remaining flour gradually.

  6. Knead the dough for 7 minutes, let it rise until doubled.

  7. Divide, roll out, brush with butter, and cut into pizza-like slices.

  8. Roll each slice to shape them, and let them rise again.

  9. Bake at 350°F for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
