Mom Hack

We all know the struggle of broken crayons, but have you ever considered an electric sharpener?

It quickly brings those little worn-down favorites back to life.

A handy tip: pop the crayons in the freezer first so they don’t get too soft or shred in the sharpener.

It's like giving a second life to those favorite colors!

Featured Response 💬

“Our sons are 2 and 5. Our 2yo's "jobs" are to throw away any trash in the trash can, put laundry in the hamper, and get the napkins out for dinnertime. Our 5yo helps feed the cats after school, set the table, and helps his brother. These are teaching them to help where needed, but still appropriate for their skill levels. ”

Giving each kid age-right jobs like that is such a sweet way to teach helping out without it ever feeling like a chore. -Danielle 😊

☀️ Summer Pasta Salad

weelicious.com

Get ready for an easy peasy, pleasingly cheesy dish that screams summer: The Summer Pasta Salad.

It’s the perfect dish for moms looking to whip up something fast, fresh, and family-approved for any BBQ, picnic, or quick lunch at home.

📝 Ingredients

  • 16 ounces pasta (fusilli, macaroni or any other small pasta shape)

  • 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon kosher salt

  • 2 ears of corn, yellow or white

  • 1 pound asparagus, stems removed

  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese (if desired)

  • Basil, for garnish

Instructions 👩‍🍳

  1. Boil pasta: Bring a large pot of water to a boil, add 1 tbsp salt, and cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  2. Steam the veggies: Place corn and asparagus in a steamer pot over boiling water and cook for 2–3 minutes. Or, boil them together for 1–2 minutes if you don’t have a steamer.

  3. Chop: Once cooled, cut the corn off the cob and chop asparagus into bite-sized pieces.

  4. Mix it all up: In a large bowl, combine pasta, veggies, cherry tomatoes, olive oil, and parmesan (if using). Season with salt, pepper, and any fresh herbs you like.

  5. Chill & serve: Let it chill in the fridge until ready to serve—cold is best!

📌 Note

Want to switch it up?

Toss in extras like red onion, bell pepper, or even diced cucumbers.

Make it ahead of time so you’re not scrambling before dinner or your next potluck.
