Featured Response 💬

“I have so much respect for single parents because there is NO WAY I would be able to find time for myself without my husband. My favorite "me time" activity is taking a big shower - you know the one: exfoliating, shaving, moisturizing, the whole shebang! Thanks to my husband, I feel like I can take that time for myself and not worry about our son. 🧖‍♀️”

I have so much respect for single parents—seriously, how do they manage it all? And yes, those full-on showers feel like a mini vacation sometimes, right? They can be so refreshing and give a much-needed moment of peace! - Danielle 😊

yummytoddlerfood

Are you on a quest for a quick, easy, and healthy snack for your little munchkins?

I found an absolute winner that combines fun, taste, and nutrition all in one package - Easy Oatmeal Bars with blueberries and carrots!

And did I mention, they're totally friendly for our allergy-prone kiddos?

Perfect, isn't it? 😋

Why You’ll Love It

  • 🥕 Hidden Veggies: Grated carrots provide a nutritional boost without overpowering the flavor.

  • 🫐 Burst of Blueberries: Sweet and juicy, adding natural sweetness.

  • 🥣 Egg and Dairy-Free: Suitable for kids with allergies.

📝 Ingredients

  • ¾ cup quick or instant oats

  • ½ cup whole wheat flour

  • ½ tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • ¼ cup melted coconut oil or butter

  • ¼ cup almond butter

  • ¼ cup maple syrup

  • 1 egg (optional)

  • ½ cup grated carrot

  • ½ cup blueberries

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F and line an 8x8-inch pan with parchment paper.

  2. Stir together all the ingredients in a bowl, keeping the blueberries for the last. Add in the optional egg if you prefer.

  3. Press the mixture into your prepared pan evenly.

  4. Bake for 24-26 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden brown and set.

  5. Cool fully before slicing.

📌 Notes

  • Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days in the fridge or freeze for up to 3 months.

  • Remember, for gluten-free, use a cup-for-cup gluten-free flour mix.

  • Sunflower butter is your friend for a nut-free alternative.

  • For a cakier texture, go ahead and add that egg. Without it, you'll get a crisp cookie bar texture. It’s all about what you fancy!

  • Home-grated carrots give a finer texture than store-bought shredded ones.

  • Fresh blueberries work best for this recipe. Frozen ones might make the batter hard to press into the pan.

  • Cool fully before slicing to avoid a crumbly disaster.

So, there you have it, ladies!

A yummy, healthy snack your kiddos will adore, packed full of good-for-you ingredients that won't leave you frantically Googling each one.

Enjoy these Easy Oatmeal Bars as a snack, a breakfast, or a "just because" treat - anytime really.

Cereal Rainbow

handsonaswegrow

This craft is both educational and fun, as preschoolers learn about colors and patterns by creating their own cereal rainbows.

  1. Draw a rainbow outline on construction paper using markers.

  2. Sort Fruit Loops by color.

  3. Glue each cereal piece onto the corresponding color band of the rainbow.

  4. Add cotton balls or mini marshmallows at the ends for clouds.
