11 Easy, Mom-Tested Ways to Get Your Kids Moving

Is your kiddo getting enough exercise?

It turns out, only 1 in 4 children are getting the recommended 60 minutes of daily exercise.

Shocking, right?

Just like us, kids need to move, groove, and occasionally break a sweat.

So how can we get our mini-mes off the couch and into action?

Here are 11 mom-tested tricks!

  1. Doctor's Advice: Start by chatting with your child's doctor about the best activities.

  2. Fun First: Choose a sport or activity that tickles their fancy - the funnier, the better!

  3. Family Time: Make exercise a family affair - quality time and workout in one!

  4. Age-Appropriate Activities: Pick activities suited to their age and development. (Sorry kiddo, no powerlifting for you yet!)

  5. Plan Ahead: A regular time and place makes it easier to stick to the routine.

  6. Safe Play: Make sure they're safe with appropemakriate gear and a secure environment.

  7. Active Toys: Equip them with jump ropes, balls, and other active toys.

  8. Role Model: Let them see you being active - actions speak louder than words!

  9. Play Together: Get involved and make it a shared experience.

  10. Set Screen Limits: Balance screen time with playtime.

  11. Don't Overdo It: If exercise interferes with their routine or becomes painful, it's time for a doctor's visit.

Fostering an active lifestyle for your kids can be easy and fun with the right strategies.

So let's make exercise a joyful part of their daily life!
