Featured Response😄

“Having triplets isn't easy but I needed to go back to work. Not necessarily for money but for my sanity. I needed something of my own. I hired a college student who is majoring in early childhood psychology. She watches them while I work. She and I have become very close, and it's great to have someone at home with them that I trust and love. I know when my child gets older they'll see the importance of working hard for things you love and being able to balance life like I have.”

Baked Apple Slices 🍎🍦

Source: littlesunnykitchen

Ready for a divine dessert that's bound to become an apple of your eye (pun intended) and makes your house smell like a slice of heaven?

Oh, and guess what?

It takes just 35 minutes, and I promise, your little munchkins won't stop at one serving!

📝 Ingredients

  • 3 apples (cored, cut into ¼ inch slices)

  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (use coconut oil for our vegan queens!)

  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (you choose!)

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (or arrowroot powder)

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • ⅛ teaspoon ground cloves

  • ⅛ teaspoon salt (just a pinch!)

  • 1 tablespoon fresh apple juice, whiskey (moms, you earned it!), or water

  • Vanilla ice cream (optional, but highly recommended for serving!)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Decide on the big question: To peel or not to peel those apples? (I say keep 'em on, but your call!)

  2. Warm up that oven to 350°F (180°C).

  3. Slice up those apples nice and thin - we're talking ¼ inch slices.

  4. In a warm pan, melt the butter, toss in the apple slices, and give them a nice sprinkle of spices, cornstarch, honey, and maybe a splash of whiskey (wink!).

  5. Ensure those apples are coated well, then transfer them to your fancy ceramic baking dish.

  6. Bake for 30 golden minutes, or until those apples are just right - tender but holding their shape.

  7. Serve warm and let that vanilla ice cream melt over the slices. A little whipped cream or custard won't hurt either!

📌 Notes

  • Opt for organic apples if you can. Pink lady or Honeycrisp are personal faves.

  • Apple peel? It’s a personal preference!

  • Storing your masterpiece? Pop leftovers in the fridge (up to 5 days) or the freezer (up to 2 months). Reheating? Oven's the way to go!

Alright, mama, there you have it! The coziest fall dessert that will surely warm your heart (and belly!).
