15 Perfect Side Hustles for Busy Moms

Work From Home - at desk with baby

Ever wished you had some extra money for all those “surprise” expenses that come with kids?

Well, you’re in luck! This article dishes out 15 easy-peasy side gigs tailored for you—the queens of multitasking.

Child Care

Already a pro at keeping your kids entertained? Turn it into a business! Offer after-school care and set your own prices.

Bonus: your kids get playmates!

  • Mom Tip: Safety first. Obtain necessary certifications like CPR and create a basic contract to make parents feel more secure when leaving their kids with you.

Party Planning

If you've thrown a birthday bash for your kiddo, you've got skills! Offer to plan parties for other parents. A single successful party could be your golden ticket.

  • Mom Tip: Start by planning parties for friends and family at a discount, and ask them to provide testimonials and photos you can use as a portfolio.

Tutoring

Good at math or science? Offer tutoring sessions. Best part? Do it from home, either in-person or online.

  • Mom Tip: Choose a niche subject you excel at to stand out from general tutors and command higher rates.

Catering

Love cooking? Whip up some yummy dishes and sell 'em! Perfect for the holidays or helping new moms who can't find time to cook.

  • Mom Tip: Begin with a signature dish that you do exceptionally well and offer it to neighbors or at community events as a tasting.

Photography

Those Insta-worthy snaps of your kids can earn you money. Specialize in capturing pregnancy or baby’s first moments, and you're in business.

  • Mom Tip: Invest in a good camera and learn basic photo editing skills. These initial investments will pay off in the quality of your work.

Odd Jobs

Websites like TaskRabbit offer one-off jobs like assembling furniture. Do what you can, when you can.

  • Mom Tip: Initially, offer your services to neighbors and friends to build up reviews, which you can then use to attract more gigs on platforms like TaskRabbit.

Online Courses

Teach something you know, like cooking or knitting, through an online course. Create once, sell forever!

  • Mom Tip: Start with a free mini-course to gather feedback and email subscribers before launching a full, paid course.

YouTube Star

Kids love YouTube! Make fun videos with your little ones and earn cash.

  • Mom Tip: Focus on a specific theme or niche for your channel that you are passionate about to attract a dedicated audience.

Direct Sales

Become a social media sales star with products you love. Just avoid pyramid schemes, ok?

  • Mom Tip: Don’t just sell the product; sell the experience. Use the product for a few weeks and offer real, personal insights when promoting it.

Zumbini Teacher

Love dancing? Teach Zumbini classes (Zumba for kids!) and get paid while you sweat.

  • Mom Tip: Offer the first class free to attract parents. They’re more likely to sign up for a series of classes once they see their kids enjoying it.

Shopping Delivery

Use apps like Instacart to shop for others. You even get to bring the kids along!

  • Mom Tip: Master the quickest routes and times to shop in local stores to maximize your hourly rate.

Freelance Writing

Love to write? Do it on your own time and get paid per project.

  • Mom Tip: Don't spread yourself thin by taking on various writing styles. Focus on a niche you are knowledgeable in, and market yourself as an expert.

Virtual Assistant

If you're good at organizing, offer virtual assistant services. Perfect for naptime hustle!

  • Mom Tip: Offer a "trial package" of your services at a reduced rate to give potential clients a taste of what you can do.

Fitness Coach

Workout buffs, this one's for you. Make fitness videos or train people in-person.

  • Mom Tip: Turn one of your sessions into a "Mommy and Me" workout. It's an extra selling point!

From Blogger to Author

Got a blog? Turn your posts into a book and earn passive income!

  • Mom Tip: Compile your most popular blog posts into an e-book and offer it for free initially to collect reviews.

Wrap-Up

There you have it, mama!

With a pinch of creativity and a sprinkle of hustle, you can add some extra jingle to your pockets.

And let’s face it, the only thing better than a mom who can do it all is a mom who gets paid to do it all! 😉

Peanut Butter and Jelly Pop Tarts 🍞🍓

Source: weelicious

  • Got a hankering for a taste of childhood?

  • Got half-eaten jars of peanut butter stashed away in the back of your fridge? 🤔

Get ready to put them to good use with these adorable Homemade Peanut Butter and Jelly Pop Tarts!

Spoiler: your kids will FIGHT for the first bite!

Ingredients 📝

  • 1/4 cup smooth peanut butter

  • 1/4 cup preserves (strawberry or raspberry, you pick!)

  • 1 recipe unbaked pie crust (homemade or store-bought, no judgment here!)

  • Water

Instructions 👩‍🍳

  1. Preheat that oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Roll out your pie crust to 1/4 inch thick and cut it into cute little rectangles, about 2x3 inches.

  3. Place a rectangle on a lightly floured surface, and put 1 tsp each of peanut butter and preserves smack-dab in the center.

  4. Dip your finger in some water and brush it around the border of the dough.

  5. Slap another rectangle on top and use a fork to crimp those edges so you're locking in that gooey goodness.

  6. Lay those bad boys on a parchment or Silpat-lined baking sheet.

  7. Bake for 18 minutes or until they're golden like the sun on a beach day.

Note 📌

  • You can also mix peanut butter and preserves together in a bowl, then spoon it into the center of the tart.

  • To Freeze: Toss them on a cookie sheet, freeze for an hour, and then store in a Ziploc.

  • Freeze up to 3 months. Reheat by following steps 6-7, just add 2 more minutes to the bake time.

So, what are you waiting for? Get your Betty Crocker on and go from jar hoarder to hero in your kids' eyes.

Trust me, these are the pop-tarts you won’t feel guilty about serving, and you just might snag one for yourself! 🤤💕
