Revealed: Secret Life of Your Leftover Nipple Cream

Thought your nipple cream was just for, well, nipples?

Brace yourselves, moms! This trusty old ointment is out to rule your world, one chapped lip and unruly eyebrow at a time.

Nipple Cream: Not Just for Nipples Anymore

Nipple cream - aka lanolin - is a breastfeeding mom's best buddy.

But guess what?

It's more than just an aid for tender nipples. In fact, it's a great moisturizer and can also be a beauty hack for eyebrows, lips, cuticles, and feet.

So, that leftover nipple cream can do more for you than you imagined.

Lanolin: A Sheep's Gift to You

Lanolin, the key ingredient in nipple cream, comes from sheep's wool.

It's basically sheep grease, transformed through a magical process of treatments and purifications.

This wax-like substance helps restore skin hydration and keeps it soft and supple.

"Once it penetrates into the skin, it holds up to 400 times its weight in water."

- Kirsten Carriol, Lanolips

Your New Beauty Buddy

This nipple cream is a secret weapon for dry lips and rough patches.

And if you think your eyebrows need taming, just a dab will do the trick.

Bonus: it can be used under the eyes to smooth fine lines and mixed with thick concealers to make them creamy.

Foot Spa at Home

Dry, cracked heels? Flip-flop season got you worried?

Fear not, lanolin is here!

Apply the cream on your heels before bedtime, slip on some socks to avoid staining your sheets, and voilà, smooth heels when you wake up.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind

Although lanolin is pretty safe for most, it's derived from sheep, so not for vegans.

Also, it could potentially stain your fabrics.

But don't worry, a good dose of grease-fighting dish soap and some soaking time can rescue your sheets.

So there you have it, ladies! Your leftover nipple cream is practically a Swiss army knife of beauty.

Embrace it, experiment with it, and enjoy these surprisingly handy new uses.

  • 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon kosher salt

  • 2 ears of corn, yellow or white

Let's Get Cooking

  1. Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of water to a boil, sprinkle in that 1 tablespoon of salt, and cook your pasta according to the package's wisdom.

  2. Steam veggies: Place the corn and asparagus in a steamer pot over boiling water, and let them get steamy for 2-3 minutes. Or if you're in a rush, simply boil them for a quick 1-2 minutes.

  3. Prep the veggies: When the corn has cooled down, cut the kernels off the cob and dice the asparagus into small bite-sized pieces.

  4. Mix it up: Now the fun part! Toss all the ingredients together in a bowl. Add more salt and pepper to taste, and sprinkle in some fresh herbs if you're feeling fancy.

Wrap-up

What I love about this recipe is how versatile it is - perfect for those summer BBQ sides or as a main dish on a lazy, hot afternoon.

With corn, cherry tomatoes, and asparagus, this pasta salad is a veggie delight, sneakily disguised in a bowl of cheesy, pasta goodness.

So, let's dive into summer with this vibrant, tasty pasta salad - enjoy, mamas!
