Featured Response 💬
“My husband (a Director of Technology for a school) does the heavy lifting of setting up filters, research, etc and just teaches me the day to day implementation. I worried about what they were watching on YouTube and YouTube Kids even with our web filter on, so my husband and I decided to block both of those to be on the safe side. We try to allow them more apps that are games and creation apps so that they are doing rather than just watching, but now they all have Disney+ on their tablets. The platform we use to control the tablets allows timers for specific apps and then an overall timer for use of the tablet in a day. That allows me to limit Disney+ and “force” them to use the other apps that involve interaction.”
It sounds like you and your husband have a great system for managing tech with the kids—those app timers are genius for balancing screen time with interactive play! - Danielle 😊
